QUICKTIPS: What really happened is that I
cranked up the difficulty |
Madden NFL 09
Life as a Superstar, Pt 4
My second season started up rather quickly, as I racked up
260+ yards against the Chicago Bears. At first I seemed to be running more then
last year, which I attributed to having Alex Smith under center rather
then Daunte Culpepper. We beat the Bears soundly, and looked to be on our way to
dominance. Then a funny thing happened: I hit a wall. Not a real wall
(obviously), the proverbial Sophomore Wall. The teams were ready for me, and my
big gains stopped. I earned four TDs in our first two games, and none in the
next three. I'm starting to wonder if I peaked too early in my career. Hoping
for better, I trudged on.
After
our first loss of the season to the Giants, I looked ahead to our Monday Night
Football showdown with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. I was certain that they would
want to avenge their loss to us in last year's Conference Final, but I had
underestimated their fire. They scored on their first drive, putting us in an
immediate hole. In the second quarter, we scored on an Antwaan Randel-El TD and
a field goal, to take the lead into halftime. We also scored on our first drive
of the second half, making it 17-7. However, once the Bucs got the ball back,
their scored on one play to pull within three.
