QUICKTIPS: Sorry this chapter was so long!!

Madden NFL 09

I had an interview scheduled after we won it all, and one of the questions revolved around my soon-to-be-expired rookie contract. I was asked how I felt about re-signing with the club, and I told the guy that I felt good about it. However, in reality, I was actually looking forward to free agency. I wanted to see what I was worth and possibly go somewhere better then San Fran.

Anyway, off to the Pro Bowl. I was actually the only 'Niner of the squad this year, playing behind Donovan McNabb. It was the first time I'd played behind a really skilled QB, and I was very impressed. He scrambled on a pass play for a first down, something I wished Culpepper would have done more of. He also made some amazing passes that Daunte could never do. For my part, I was getting levelled by the AFC stars again, but I did finally get loose and run 40+ yards for a TD.

Finally, it was the offseason again. The first order of business was to see who retired after the 2009-10 season, and the biggest name to jump out at me was Terrell Owens. I thought he'd play longer then that, but I guess I was wrong. Finally though, it was time discuss my contract. I told my agent I wanted out, and he made it so. A few days later, I was greeted by a couple of offers, and all I can say was that I was insulted.

The only teams interested in me were the Houston Texans, Cincinnati Bengals, Detroit Lions and Denver Broncos. The biggest contract was a four year, six million dollar deal from Houston, but I took the shortest one, two years in Denver. I couldn't believe the pathetic offers! I took the shortest contract because I wanted to get back on the market ASAP and try again. I didn't want to play in any of those cities! Oh well. Look forward to the next chapter, when I start my first season as a Bronco.
