I have always been a big fan of Medabots (Medarot/メダロット is the original Japanese name) and I was extremely happy when I found out that there was going to be a Nintendo DS game of it after it had been dead for about 8 years, if not longer. I was hoping for it to be released worldwide, but unfortunately, that didn’t happen. After a while, I decided to just get the games and play them in Japanese.

Some time ago, I was looking around in the PSN Store with no real clue on what I was looking for. Clueless as ever, wonderful. Then I stumbled across this little game that I vaguely remembered from some flash site. So I bought it because I like good Tower Defence games.
Star Wars: The Old Republic launches in just a few days, so here is our early, preliminary opinions. The game, as a whole, seems polished and looks decent but may not be the next Big Thing that fans have been hoping it would be. Still, it’s not Star Wars Galaxies (RIP), either.
It’s big, it’s bad, and it’s out of beta. Minecraft finally released in full last month with a number of changes to it’s core formula. Now I can finally give full review to a game that we’ve all been playing for so long.
IGN recently posted an article on the rationale of giving perfect scores to games they review. I thought it was a well written article and covered some things that I’ve gone through here. One quote strikes me in particular.
I never reviewed Saint’s Row 2. That surprises me. I played it but I never actually wrote a review on a game that was, in many ways, what Grant Theft Auto 4 should have been like. Well, I will be reviewing Saint’s Row: The Third, but for now here’s my first opinions.
Bethesda has announced that they’re putting the finishing touches on the Creation Kit, which will allow gamers to create mods for Skyrim on PC. Two interesting facets stand out to me from the announcement. First is that we now have a tentative release window: sometime in ‘early’ January. Second, the Kit is going to link up with Steam Workshop to ease the location and installation of mods. They propose that you will be able to select and flag mods for downloading from most anywhere, thanks to mobile devices, and it excites me because it will be woven in to the system; no workarounds or hacks involved. The Creation Kit will archive and upload your mod for you when you’re done. Of course, if you prefer to use mod sites (like TES Nexus), Bethesda says that will still be an option.
They also say that they are working on the new-since-patch-1.2 backwards flying dragons that some people are experiencing, and suggest it will be available in the next week.
Star Wars: The Old Republic is in what is supposed to be it’s final beta test weekend. In my second time through the SWTOR beta mill, I can finally share some of my experience now that the NDA has been lifted.
