first opinion
As the last game of 2011 I really want to get in the books pre-2011 Game of the Year awards (Battlefield 3 and Star Wars: The Old Republic won’t make it on time) I’m burning through Batman: Arkham City on PC. I neglected to get Arkham Asylum reviewed and I don’t want to miss this one. Here’s my first take on the game.
I finally got ahold of Battlefield 3 for PC last night. I was having reservations about it since I have long sucked (for lack of a better term) at shooters online, and BF3 has no (quality) single player component. What did I find when I finally picked it up?
Star Wars: The Old Republic launches in just a few days, so here is our early, preliminary opinions. The game, as a whole, seems polished and looks decent but may not be the next Big Thing that fans have been hoping it would be. Still, it’s not Star Wars Galaxies (RIP), either.
I never reviewed Saint’s Row 2. That surprises me. I played it but I never actually wrote a review on a game that was, in many ways, what Grant Theft Auto 4 should have been like. Well, I will be reviewing Saint’s Row: The Third, but for now here’s my first opinions.
Star Wars: The Old Republic is in what is supposed to be it’s final beta test weekend. In my second time through the SWTOR beta mill, I can finally share some of my experience now that the NDA has been lifted.
Skyrim is out, and I’ve been playing it to get a review up. Do I like it? In a word, yes. It’s even better then Oblivion and looks like a Game of the Year award candidate. Let’s get a preliminary look.
I’m not one to typically write off a game on this site. In fact I’ve only really done it twice since 2005, once on Test Drive Unlimited 2 for personal reasons and secondly Section 8: Prejudice for my dislike of it’s DRM model (Games for Windows Live). I’m still not going to review TDU2, but I’m taking back, somewhat, what I said about S8: Prejudice. I still dislike GFW:Live, but it’s not enough of a reason to pass on reviewing the game. As such, here’s my full, finished Section 8: Prejudice review.

NCAA Football 12 is here. I’ve played NCAA Football on the 360 since ‘08 and after reviewing last year’s offering, I was unimpressed with the game’s progress over the years. Playing the latest in the series has me more inspired then last season, but not blown away. Continue reading
