You’ll have to pardon me if I sound wistful here; I’m suffering from a bit of déjà vu. I’m playing NCAA Football 13 and I can’t help but feel like I’ve reviewed this one before. You know, like last year or something. Oh, that’s right.
We have reviewed the footage (and gameplay), and have come up with a verdict. The review is in, and we’re here to deliver it.
With my NCAA Football 12 review coming soon, I wanted to chime in with a few final points from my playtime that won’t make it into the review, covering Road to Glory and the Online Dynasty.
NCAA Football 12 is here. I’ve played NCAA Football on the 360 since ‘08 and after reviewing last year’s offering, I was unimpressed with the game’s progress over the years. Playing the latest in the series has me more inspired then last season, but not blown away. Continue reading
NCAA Football 08 was my first ever Xbox 360 review and it still stands out in my mind as possibly the most fun football title I’ve yet to play on the 360. It had great graphics, outstanding control, a just-right difficulty and my favorite player career mode to date, ‘Road to Glory.’ How have things changed since then, for better or worse? Well, time has been kind to some aspects but the faults loom large and point to a possible larger problem: we may have reached the end of the leash on sports titles for this console generation.
In our inaugural Xbox 360 review, it would be wrong of me to be comparing titles on Microsoft’s new platform with last-gen systems, so I’ll just stick with what I can on the 360. And, I can say for sure, that I had a ton of fun with NCAA 08. It’s not perfect, but it’s the most fun I’ve had with a game since I finished Shivering Isles, and that’s saying allot. Continue reading
