Can we really be just over a week away from Duke Nukem Forever? It seems like just yesterday it was first announced. No, wait ā€“ it seems like forever ago. I was going to pass it over for now and come back for it to review later, but Iā€™m having second thoughts.

Since I was a fan of Fallout 3, it was kind of predetermined that I would probably enjoy New Vegas ā€“ and enjoy it I did, but is there enough new here to make returning to the post apocalyptic world worth your time? Continue reading

I’m a big fan of a good RTS game, but I never dove into the original StarCraft. The reasoning is simple; I picked up the genre after the original game’s heyday. I began playing RTS titles with Age of Empires II: Age of Kings late in AOE2’s life cycle. I honestly never made much of an attempt to go back to the older RTS games that I’d missed (aside from the original Warcraft, which I had bought before getting hooked on the genre). The sum of this rant is that I pretty much was stepping in to StarCraft II blind as to it’s play mechanics. The result has me left me impressed, surprised, and most importantly, hooked.

I loved Super Mario Galaxy. I in fact loved it so much that it received e-AAGH.net’s Game of the Year award in 2007. When a sequel was announced – the first time a console Mario title had a follow up since the NES days – I was excited. Similar to my situation with Champions Online, I participated in the beta testing phase for Star Trek Online. From that perspective, this game has come a long way. However, as a finished product, and more importantly, as a Star Trek title, how does it hold up? Not as well as you would hope, but not as bad as you may fear.

Champions Online is the first on-release review of an MMO I’ve ever done, so this has been a new experience. The game has some major flaws, but it is a new release, and MMOs are traditionally buggy on release. However, it’s youth can’t account for all of it’s problems, and that’s the game’s biggest hurdle.

I want to start with a disclaimer here: I have not played the first two Fallout games. I know about them, and I’ve read about them, but I have not played them. Therefore, you’ll be getting a review from – and for – a gamer just coming into the series. With that out of the way, let’s get this thing underway.

Space Empires 5. Where to start? This is – bar none – the deepest game I’ve reviewed. Seriously; Medieval 2: Total War is checkers in comparison. I’ll try to break this down the best I can, so bear with me here.
